Make a Sew Powerful Purse

Have you ever wanted to use your sewing skills to raise up women and empower the poor? When you learn to make a Sew Powerful purse, you do just that! The Sew Powerful charity gives purses full of reusable menstrual supplies to impoverished girls in Zambia, enabling them to stay in school all month and complete their education. Taught by Sew Powerful volunteer and chapter leader Ashley Hufford, this class includes a pre-cut purse kit and a fun group environment to make your first Sew Powerful purse!

Materials needed:
Sewing Machine
Thread (in navy blue, hot pink, or powder pink, depending on the kit)
Iron and portable ironing surface
Scissors
Pins

You can pick up your kit the day of class. No prep work needed!
