Sashiko Club- Sashiko As You Go
First Saturday of every month!
Come explore your Sashiko machine as you create a stunning showcase of over one dozen different traditional Sashiko designs. In this project you will be working with smaller sections that are easy to manipulate as you quilt the Sashiko design. After you've finished quilting several rows of designs, you join the rows together with spacer bars quilted with another traditional design. (Note: this project can also be sewn on any traditional straight stitch machine.)
- Main fabrics: 4.5yds of three different fabrics (includes yardage for back of rows)
- Additional fabric requirements for spacer bars and binding will be discussed in class.
- Queen size batting
- Fabric marking pencil that will be visible on your fabrics
- Safety pins for basting
- Sashiko sewing machine
- Contrasting thread
- Cut one 8" x 90" strip of each main fabic, and of batting
